BANGLA ROAD PATONG BEACH
Bars & Nightlife-

Phuket's Bangla Road really comes to life after sunset, when the road is closed to traffic and becomes a 400-metre festival of neon lights, loud music and cheap beer.

Beer bars occupy most of the street's length, with several go-go bars and a few pubs, restaurants, discos and shops rounding out the attractions, both on Soi Bangla and down its side streets.

Soi Bangla can be roughly divided into 3 sections, each with its own particular atmosphere. The end of Soi Bangla, furthest from the beach and closest to Rat-U-Thit Road and Jungceylon Shopping Centre, is home to most of the biggest and best nightclubs in Phuket. Further west, you'll find the midsection where you will find most of the go-go bars along Bangla Road.

The beach end of Bangla Road – starting from Soi Freedom is lined almost exclusively with beer bars on the southern side of the road. Across the road are some of the area’s most notable establishments.

1. SOI SEA DRAGON

Soi Seadragon is a lively nightlife street along Bangla Road in Patong. This covered lane is about 100 metres in length, housing around 46 bars (mostly beer bars and go-go bars). Virtually every entrance along both sides of its 100-metre length are such wonderful establishments, with a line of beer bars right down the middle of the covered street.

There is a back entrance, which leads to the KEE Resort and convenient underground parking (for a small fee).

A notable venue here is the famous Suzy Wong’s, located right at the KEE Resort end, with plenty of beer bars in between.

The central part of soi Sea Dragon is dedicated to beer bars, which are built in an unusual 2-storey design. The smaller bars on the upper floor are often unrelated to the ones downstairs and, while a few are popular for their views across Bangla Road, most are pretty quiet compared to their downstairs neighbours.

4. SOI TIGER
Bars & Nightlife-

Soi Tiger named after the Tiger Beer Bar Complex and Tiger Discotheque is probably the most unique of all the Soi’s in Patong and part of the massive 5000 sqm New Tiger Entertainment Complex there is no way you could miss this three story landmark as you pass by on Bangla Road. The entire building is fitted out in a giant concrete cave decor with an impressive set of tiger sculptures overlooking the street.

The ground floor is home to Patong’s biggest beer bar complex with almost 60 girlie bars, while the two upper floors are reserved for the Tiger Discotheque. The beer bars are fun, loud and colourful with plenty of Thai bargirls dancing on the counter.

The complex can be a little overwhelming at first but is definitely worth a visit, being hands down it's the best girlie bar area to visit if you want to pick one up. The sexiest girls are usually dancing in the bars closest to the entrance but don’t hesitate to explore around a bit first.

All given the drinks prices are reasonable and invariably the same at 100 Baht for a local beer, lady drinks however are 200-240 baht. If you're new to the scene and fancy a girl and would like her company offer to buy her a lady drink.

If you're interested in bringing a girl back home with you, this will need to be compensated with a bar fine. The bar fine is negotiated with the mamasan, prices will vary depending on the length of time you wish to spend with her. This fine does not include the service from the girl which must be negotiated as well directly with the girl for her time.

Those looking to save a bit of money and not spend anything on a barfine can head just upstairs to the Tiger Night Club and Discotheque.

The second and third floor of New Tiger Entertainment Complex is home to one of the biggest and loudest discotheque's in Patong the Tiger Night Club and Discotheque, renowned for having the highest ratio of freelancers (about 80% of the Thai girls). You really can’t miss them, they're all around, espeicially in dark corners, actively trying to make eye contact with any foreigner passing by.

Westerners occupy mostly the central and dance stage areas, while Arabs and Russians tend to be the ones occupying the VIP zones. Each night the club features different live bands and DJs spinning popular commercial EDM tunes and Hip Hop mixed in with some Arabic songs from time to time if lots of Middle Eastern are visiting the Island.

Tiger is definitely one of the most popular discotheques in Patong for punters looking to hook up easily with freelancing Thai girls.

5. SOI HOLLYWOOD

Soi Hollywood formerly known as soi Easy contains a couple of cheaper beer bars with many pool tables. Right down at the far end is the entrance to a go-go bar and public restrooms. The prices for drinks in Phuket’s beer bars are similar like in the other tourist hubs in Thailand. A small bottle of beer costs around 100 Baht and spirits (like gin tonic or black label soda) cost around 160-180 Baht. But what you will find more expensive than elsewhere in Thailand are the lady drinks – it’s almost impossible to find a bar on Bangla Road that charges anything less than 200 Baht for one.

6. SOI PATONG RESORT

Soi Patong Resort is the link between the long-established Patong Resort and Bangla Road. It is about 100 metres long and offers the type of venues geared towards travellers. The soi contains numerous restaurants, bars, massage parlours, tailors, an internet café, drinks shops, and souvenir outlets. You can find the start of Soi Patong Resort opposite Soi Seadragon.

Other popular sois off Bangla road are soi Viking located opposite Illuzion Nightclub and soi Lion at the very beginning of Bangla Road, next to the Hollywood Phuket club.
