VIETNAM PLANNING TO RESUME INTERNATIONAL PASSANGER FLIGHTS
Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Authority is working on a plan to resume international flights, after being grounded for the past five months. Trips are planned to start as early as this month from Sept 15. All passengers will be expected to go through a manditory quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in the country.
The first international flights under the plan will be to Japan and South Korea, with four trips per week on each route. The transport ministry is set to meet with the ministries of foreign affairs, defence, health and labour to discuss the plan this week.
International flights to Vietnam stopped on April 1 due to the "coronavirus" pandemic. Recently Vietnamese officials ordered the evacuation of 80,000 people from the coastal city of Da Nang, following the surprise apperance of 3 new covid-19 cases.

THAILAND-
Meanwhile in Thailand there are currently no plans for a re-opening of all its international airports for general tourism.
Only Phuket international airport plans to reopen to international passenger flights and welcome back foreign tourism from October 1. with a new travel model called 'Thailand Long Stay' which requires 14 days manditory quarantine in a government approved hotel, some with beach access.
Other ASEAN countries are, still at this stage, largely closed to international traffic.
Malayasia's borders are closed to tourists until December 31. Only those who have families in Malaysia or “essential” travellers who enter the country for business or investment purposes are allowed to visit. Those travellers need to have a letter approved by the Malaysian consulate or embassy as well as the appropriate visa before landing. Travellers also need to go through a 14 day quarantine.
