FIVE TYPES OF WOMEN YOU'LL FIND IN THAILAND
When Thai women are mentioned, it’s fair to say that most people immediately think of two different types; the ‘bar girls’ and the ‘normal girls’. In our experience, there’s actually five different types of Thai girls that you’ll find in the country. So if you're looking for a bit a bit of female companionship in Thailand be it casual or something more long term, we think it’s important to understand the differences between them.
1. BAR GIRLS
Since bar girls seem to get the most attention, lets start with these women first.
If you’ve been on a few nights out in Thailand, we can almost guarantee that you’ve bumped into a few bar girls. In Pattaya, Bangkok, and other big cities, you’re likely to come across bar girls often.
Raised in poor families, normally in rural Isaan (northeast Thailand), they see their work in clubs and bars as a serious job. Whenever they earn money, some goes towards their education and lifestyle while the rest tends to go home to their family.
Unfortunately, their poor reputation comes from their desire to earn money. Since they earn more on this scene than they ever could in a day job, some are very rarely willing to forgo this lifestyle for a man, whereas some others work bars as a means to an end and are there to find a man to take care of them long term as well as just for the night. In fact there's at least five types of women you'll in the bar
If you're looking for a long term relationship, with a bar girl make sure she is genuine with her intent. Always remember when it comes to bar girls, you're usually only as good as your wallet. She may have even shown signs of jealousy when you've been flirting with other girls, don't confuse this with love, she sees your money as hers and doesn't want you giving it to anyone else.
However If you're looking for just a bit of 'no strings attached fun', bar girls are great fun to be with, you can even ask a bar girl if she and one of her friends would both like to go home or to your hotel with you, and more often than not they will!
2. TRADITIONAL GIRLS
You could think about traditional Thai girls as ‘regular’ or ‘normal’. Many work long hours in their day job, they don’t socialise in clubs and bars that much, and the majority haven’t yet dated a foreign guy, (the Badoo dating App is full of them). Unlike what you may have experienced at home, Thai women don’t like casual dating. If you’re a few dates in, they will probably see you as their boyfriend already.
For traditional Thai women, they take marriage and love very seriously; they believe in giving their all to their man. Additionally, they have strong values for;
For most Western men, they find themselves in conversations about marriage within no time at all. If you aren’t interested and aren’t serious, we highly recommend breaking up as soon as you can, to avoid any kind of emotional conflict.
Traditional Thai women are generally shy and conservative in nature. They rarely have tattoos and piercings, they don’t wear too much makeup, and only an emergency will see them ask for money. In fact, most traditional Thai women prefer to save money and will help you find cheap hotels, food, salons, shopping malls, etc.
Sounds great but another drawback to bare in mind is their ability with the English language, this can also be said for some bar girls. If you find a girl that doesn’t speak much English, you can be certain that she’s trying to learn. As long as you're both making an effort to communicate, you'll figure it out.
3. GOLD DIGGERS
We mentioned the way that bar girls like to earn money, but this is nothing compared to the gold diggers of Thailand. That’s right, these women are usually smoking hot and know it, we can thank her facebook page with a 1000+ guys from all over the world (she's never met) on her friends list, telling her how beautiful she is every time she posts a selfie, gold diggers will go to clubs and freelance every night dressed up in expensive clothing with expensive gadgets, handbags, shoes, and they could even have tattoos. Either way, they look for rich men who will buy them gifts and supplement their expensive lifestyle. While some are happy to stick with one sugar daddy, others will seek multiple sugar daddies, so be careful (we assume you want to avoid this type of woman!).
For many Thai gold diggers, they’re happy to keep partying until the sun comes up. Most of the time, they don’t care if you’re talking with other girls because they’re doing exactly the same talking with other men. If you choose a gold digger, they will be demanding, they will ask for gifts, and they will prefer material things over your time and you'll get no thanks for it. Some can be just as bad as western gold diggers or like the character Sharon Stone played in the movie Casino.

Of course, we aren’t saying that any girl asking for money is a gold digger. But there’s a difference between running into money problems (and feeling awkward asking for help) and simply asking for you to to fund their luxuary lifestyle.
However if you do fancy a challenge, the only way to take a gold digger, is to do so for a short time (one night) thats because not only will it be expensive and humiliating, gold diggers are usually not that good in bed and thats if they even have sex with you at all.
4. LIBERATED THAI GIRLS
A liberated Thai girl is a traditional Thai girl who has been able to break free from the shyness. They’re accustomed to Western attitudes and men, they like adventure, and they’re generally very good fun.
Unlike the gold diggers, liberated Thai girls are independent and they won’t be looking for a man with money. Instead, they’re genuinely interested in finding somebody to love as well as a casual fling from time to time.
Good with the English language, these women will have careers and huge aspirations for the future. Before settling down with a family, they will have goals. Thanks to their middle-class families, most have been to a big university, some have even spent time abroad, and are now putting these skills to good use. Fortunately, these girls independent in nature, love new experiences, and this is where it can be advantagious for us western guys.

5. HIGH SOCIETY GIRLS
Finally, we come to the high society Thai women and these normally come from a wealthy family who're looking to date and marry nto the same. In truth, it’s another life entirely for those who don’t socialise in these circles. For this reason, you won’t often find them in a typical bar, restaurant, or club. They like to frequent fashion shows, exclusive restaurants, swanky high end rooftop bars and events with a high reputation.
We're in the belief that picking up girls is only a matter of cofidence, and it's true,however if you're looking long term relationships in this instance , unless you have the sort of money they are used to with their family and circle of friends, it’s hard to compete with those who do. If you do have some money, then there’s no reason why you can’t.
