BANGKOK RED LIGHT DISTRICTS

Visiting a Bangkok red light district in 2020 is still very entertaining for male travelers. From shiny, bright and lively places where everyone is welcome to dark pits you should avoid. This city can be a bit intimidating and time consuming to figure out where everything is. so in this article our goal is to get you familiar with the best hot spot areas to visit in Bangkok and to give you an idea of the prices in the bars..

The three main areas to know are Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and Patpong

Bangkok’s most prominent Red Light Districts include Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and Patpong all adjacent to one another in the centre of the city. These districts boast well-known and often high-end establishments that are not the product of illegal trafficking or forced workers,  their high public visibility greatly reduces such a presence.
Getting to each three of these central locations couldn't be easier by using the Bangkok Skytrain (BTS) or the  Bangkok MRT (underground train) .

PATPONG

Patpong is Bangkok’s oldest red light district located in Silom .This area of Silom is where go-go bars first gained popularity during the Vietnam War era, and today its two main streets-Patpong Soi 1 and Patpong Soi 2 remain a huge attraction for visitors curious about the city’s raunchy nightlife.  There's also a  night market within Patpong, also on the list of places to visit for most tourists. Some may be surprised to see that Patpong is also home to some of Bangkok's best gogo bars.

The bar scene at Patpong has been around for decades, therefore you will find some cool older style bars that have a bit of history and character making Patpong such a cool place to visit.

Although you won't find the same type of flash and in your face type rush as with the other two locations, it's still definately still worth a look whenever you are in town, especially for the retro feel aspect of it, and since it doubles up as a night market filled with vendors selling all sorts of things at low prices.

Beware of touts offering free sex shows, visitors can encounter enormous bills full of hidden costs when the show ends, with security guards on the ready to make sure you pay in full. This is particularly prevalent among the “ping-pong” ,other live sex shows on offer trademark to Patpong.

Besides the Touts offering free sex shows, the Patpong area does boast a numerous amount of friendly and fun go-go Bars most notably 'Bada Bing Go-Go Bar on Patpong Soi 2 where every night over 25 girls dance provocatively on stage dressed in sexy denim micro-shorts, army uniforms, nurses outfits and many other costumes.

THE PATPONG MUSEUM

Ladies of the night , the CIA, the Vietnam War and Chinese immigration are all on display in a new museum dedicated to Bangkok's oldest red light district on Patpong soi 2

Alongside "Triple X," "fetish" and kinky cabaret exhibits are displays highlighting David Bowie's 1983 visit to Bangkok, as well as other bits of pop culture, including a nod to "The Deer Hunter" -The 1978 war drama starring Robert De Niro that included scenes reportedly shot in former Patpong bar Mississippi Queen.

But documenting Patpong's unofficial ties to the US Central Intelligence Agency's deadly activities in Laos during the US-Vietnam War in the 1960s until 1974 is the museum's most fascinating purpose.

Opening hours are 10am-10pm
